The
moment you pass the fierce looking stone guardians and the
huge mangrove root system that forms our entrance, you will
realise that you have entered a magical realm. Mysterious
shadow puppets, real Batik tablecloths, grotesque Balinese
masks, and enough artworks and Indonesian curios to fill
a small museum complete the picture. |
Ever
since my Mum and Dad, Jan and Gre Machiela, First opened
the restaurant, we have strived to bring patrons the finest
Dutch Indonesian dishes. We are currently the ONLY restaurant
in New Zealand where you can order a Rijsttafel, the famous
Indonesian banquet, where a multitude of dishes is kept
warm on small candled powered heaters right at your table.
